The road from Rooi Els to Pringle Bay swings inland and the stretch of countryside from here to the turnoff to Pringle Bay is famous for the abundance of wild flowers especially protea and heath.

Description : Overnight or holiday stopover - Pringle Bay, Overberg
This hidden gem is situated right on the beach at the Buffels river estuary.
Come and explore Jenny's super-relaxed seaside cottage situated in lawny enclaves which lead to the beach with its fine white sand. In summer the lagoon is a kids paradise. Baboons troop over the beach and there are otters in the river. Breakfast is served on the deck from where whales (in season) and fynbos and estuarine birds can be watched. Glowing sunsets can be enjoyed while you sip your sundowner before moving on to the restaurant of your choice.

Accommodation : For six people in two cosy suites which are furnished with old country style furniture, and each suite has its own kitchenette where light meals can be prepared. There are 2 double beds and two single beds but a child's cot can be brought in to the Cottage should it be necessary. TV in both rooms. The Cottage with its antique solid brass bed, also has a sun-room which leads onto the courtyard with its BBQ facilities. The Sunshine suite, looks out over the river up to the rugged fynbos-clad mountains. Guests can pamper themselves in the Victorian slipper bath. This accommodation also leads onto the BBQ.

Directions on How to Get There
From Cape Town:
Follow the N1 to Worcester, turn off and take the road to Robertson. In Robertson take a right turn off to McGregor. Once over the bridge veer right to Le Chasseur. After 24km turn left onto a gravel road and after exactly 4.3km turn left into the farm gate.


Activities and Attractions : Two golf-courses of international standard are an easy 40 minute drive away. The wine route is within easy distance: take a spectacular circular day drive from Pringle Bay, through Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Somerset West. Drive back along the dramatic coastal road.
A canoe and paddle skis are available for use on the river.
Visit the land based penguin colony at Stoney Point.
Guests can swim, surf, and fish off the rocks, or enjoy some lovely walks in the Harold Porter Gardens, the Koegelberg Biosphere reserve, and other unspoilt places. ( walks can be organised with a registered guide, who can answer all your questions about the nature around you.)
Sun tanning on the beach or in secluded spots in the garden.
Children/toddlers will love the warm, shallow waters in the summer lagoon, which is quite safe.
There is good surfing, and kite surfing in the area, and there are a number of beaches which can be used depending on the wind direction.
